Job Title: Career Resource Center Specialist
Department: Educational Services
Reports To: Director of Educational Services
Contract Details: 10-Month; Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

SUMMARY: The Career Resource Center Specialist is responsible for the daily operations of the Career Resource Center, supporting both secondary and adult students. This role includes administering assessments, providing computer literacy instruction, and delivering both group and individualized academic support.

The specialist oversees all student certification testing for full-time and short-term programs, ensuring compliance with Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education (ODCTE) guidelines and testing procedures across all programs. This position also collaborates with high schools to support accurate certification transcription and reporting.

As a member of the Educational Services team, the Career Resource Center Specialist assists with a variety of student support functions, including tutoring, college coursework assistance, and other initiatives that promote student success and achievement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Collaborate with administration, instructors, and staff to support Career Resource Center operations and initiatives.

Partner with feeder school counselors and special education staff to ensure appropriate educational opportunities for students.

Work with Educational Services to provide academic support and intervention for students.

Support Instructional Services by assisting instructors, including end-of-year follow-up and substitute coverage as needed.

Coordinate with external agencies to deliver educational programming for their participants.

Plan and implement special projects aligned with student and program needs.

Guide students in developing plans of study, resumes, portfolios, and job readiness skills.

Administer and maintain ODCTE occupational competency testing and results.

Ensure accurate and timely recordkeeping and reporting test scores in compliance with ODCTE and district requirements.

Develop and manage testing schedules in coordination with instructors and the Business and Industry Services department.

Enter and maintain student certification records in Achademix.

Coordinate College Board testing, including ordering, preparation, and administration.

Organize and oversee student tutoring programs.

Maintain student data, including uploading badge photos and managing assessment records in Achademix.

Administer Accuplacer exams and maintain score documentation to support student placement and understanding.

Participate in professional development to maintain and enhance job-related skills.

Support outreach and relationship-building efforts, including participation in feeder school counselor events.

Expand testing opportunities for students in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan.

Develop and implement an individual program of work aligned with the mission and goals of EOC Technology Center.

Coordinate and administer testing services for community members and external organizations, including paraprofessional assessments and Service Oklahoma written knowledge examinations.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Three years of experience working in an educational environment preferred. Bachelor’s degree helpful.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Other Skills and Abilities: Good communication skills. Ability to operate specific equipment or tools. Ability to work with specific computer software. Strong time management and project management skills required.
