Description

The Cafeteria Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school cafeteria, managing the district’s Child Nutrition Program, and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. This position supervises cafeteria staff, maintains food safety standards, manages inventory and budgeting, and oversees the accurate submission of meal documentation required for state and federal reimbursement programs.
-Administer the district’s Child Nutrition Program in accordance with guidelines established by the United States Department of Agriculture and the state department of education.
-Maintain accurate meal counts, free and reduced meal documentation, and production records.
-Prepare and submit required reports to ensure timely federal and state meal reimbursements.
-Monitor compliance with eligibility requirements, nutritional standards, and audit procedures.
-Serve as the district contact for child nutrition reviews and program monitoring.
Required Qualifications -High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nutrition, food service management, business, or a related field preferred
-Minimum of three years of experience in food service operations, with supervisory experience preferred
-Knowledge of the United States Department of Agriculture Child Nutrition Program requirements, including meal pattern regulations and reimbursement procedures
-Experience maintaining records for free and reduced meal applications, meal counts, and federal reimbursement reporting
-Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations
-Current Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification, or ability to obtain certification upon employment
-Strong organizational, budgeting, and inventory management skills
-Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate cafeteria staff
